Installing GT Extensions for FluentCart

Updated October 17, 2026

Install GT Extensions alongside FluentCart, then enable only the modules you plan to configure. GT Extensions is an add-on; its ZIP does not include FluentCart or FluentCart Pro.

Use a staging copy for your first setup when the store already accepts orders. That gives you somewhere to check prices, checkout controls and emails without confusing a customer.

Install the Plugin

You need WordPress administrator access and a working FluentCart installation.

  1. Download the plugin ZIP from your account or the download link supplied to you.
  2. Open Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin in WordPress.
  3. Select the ZIP, install it and activate GT Extensions for FluentCart.
  4. Open FluentCart → GT Extensions.
  5. Open License to add or activate your license when applicable.
  6. Enable a module, configure it and click Save Settings.

FluentCart Pro is optional for the extension itself. Features that depend on a Pro capability, such as supported advanced product variations, still need that capability in FluentCart. Compatibility notices in the admin identify a missing dependency.

Check the First Workflow

Use a small example product and follow its customer path.

  • Confirm the product’s price and selected option.
  • Add it to the cart and check the total.
  • Review the billing and shipping controls that apply to that product.
  • Use the payment gateway’s test mode before accepting real payments.
  • Check email delivery separately if you enable invoices or stock alerts.

For example, enabling Wishlist adds the product-page action, but you still need a page containing its shortcode so customers have somewhere to view saved products.

Update and Remove

Keep a recoverable backup before updating a working store. Use WordPress’s plugin updater when your license provides an update, or upload the supplied ZIP through the normal replacement flow.

Deactivation stops the plugin’s behavior. Disabling individual modules preserves their settings and records. Do not assume deleting plugin files removes invoices, native orders or all stored data; use a deliberate data-retention plan for store records.

See licensing and updates for activation problems and the settings guide for module configuration.
