Min/Max Quantity in GT Extensions for FluentCart
Min/Max Quantity sets purchase-quantity boundaries for products and variations. Use it when a product has a minimum order size or when you want to limit the quantity in a cart.
These are cart quantity rules, not a lifetime limit per customer. A maximum of 2 does not identify and block every later order from the same person.
Configure the Defaults
Enable the module and open Configure.
- Default Minimum starts at 1.
- Default Maximum uses 0 for no module-imposed maximum.
- Show limits on product page explains the rule near the product price.
- Enforce on cart updates applies the rule to items already in the cart.
- Minimum Text and Maximum Text use {min} and {max}.
- Minimum Error Message and Maximum Error Message can use {product} along with the relevant limit.
Save the settings, then check both adding an item and changing its quantity in the cart. Native stock availability can further limit what is purchasable.
Example: Wholesale Notebooks
For a notebook sold in bulk, set the minimum to 10 and maximum to 50. A customer requesting 5 should see the minimum message; a request for 60 should be rejected. Leave cart-update enforcement enabled if reducing an existing cart below 10 must also be rejected.
Variation Overrides and Input Steps
Per-variation values override the defaults. Developers can store min_quantity, max_quantity and quantity_step in variation other_info through the quantity-limits endpoint. There is no dedicated variation-limit field injected into the native product editor.
Quantity step controls the frontend input increment. The server validator checks minimum and maximum; do not treat the step control alone as strict server-enforced case-pack validation. If your business must only accept multiples of a pack size, add the corresponding server-side rule.
Check the Boundary
Test the minimum, maximum, a value just outside each limit and the available stock. Do this for each variation that overrides the default. A rule that works for one option does not establish the settings for every option.
