Add a Product Details Table
Buyers want the facts in one place: the version, the file type, the requirements, the license, the ISBN. Easy Digital Downloads has nowhere to put them except the description, so most stores paste a table by hand and search engines never read it as product data.
Free in Lite: this module is also in Stackless Lite for EDD, the free edition, and works the same way there.
Product Details Table adds a specifications table with presets for digital downloads, software, books, courses and services, and physical products. Some values fill in from EDD data, price options can show their own values, and the details feed EDD’s product structured data.
Choose Where the Table Shows
Go to Stackless → Settings → Product Details Table:
- Placement: Below the purchase button (default), Below the description, above the purchase button, Above the description, or Only where I place the shortcode.
- Table heading: defaults to “Specifications”. Leave it blank for no heading.
- Structured data: add details to the product schema (brand, GTIN, MPN, condition, weight, dimensions, other properties). On by default.

The automatic placements sit around the download content on the download’s own page, where EDD adds its purchase button after the description.
Fill In a Download’s Details
Turning the module on changes no download page by itself. Each download needs its table switched on:
- Edit the download and find the Details table box.
- Pick a Download type. This decides which fields appear.
- Tick Details table: “Show the details table on the download page”.
- Fill in the fields. Tick Hide next to any field you don’t want in the table.
- Update the download.
A new download starts on Digital download. The Download type presets are:
- Physical product: Brand, Model number, GTIN / UPC / EAN, Condition, Colors, Size, Material, Dimensions, Weight, In the box, Country of origin, Warranty.
- Digital download: File type, File size, Files included, Pages, Version, Last updated, Requirements, License, Delivery.
- Book or ebook: Author, Publisher, Publication date, Edition, Language, Pages, Format, ISBN-13, ISBN-10, File type, File size, Dimensions, Weight.
- Software or plugin: Version, Last updated, Requirements, Works with, File type, File size, License, Sites or devices, Support, Updates, Documentation, Live demo.
- Course or service: Duration, Format, Level, Language, Includes, Access, Delivery time, Location.
- Custom details only: no preset fields.

Values That Fill In Automatically
Grey placeholder values come from EDD data and are used when you leave a box empty:
- GTIN / UPC / EAN from the download’s SKU when it’s a valid barcode number, plus ISBN-13 and ISBN-10 when that number is an ISBN
- File type, File size and Files included from the download’s files. File size only counts files stored in the media library or the uploads folder.
- Last updated from the download’s last modified date, and Format as Ebook, when the download has files
- Language from your site language
Delivery suggests “Instant download after payment” until you type your own.
Validation
Fields are checked when you save. A value that fails is dropped and a notice on the download editor explains why, while the rest saves:
- GTIN must be 8, 12, 13 or 14 digits with a valid check digit.
- Enter either ISBN and the other is worked out for you. ISBNs starting with 979 have no ISBN-10.
- Dates use YYYY-MM-DD, Pages and Files included must be whole numbers, and Documentation and Live demo must be web addresses.
- List fields such as Requirements, Works with, Author and Colors take comma-separated values, up to 30 items.
- Each value can be up to 300 characters.
Add Extra Rows
Extra details takes one row per line as Name | Value, up to 20 rows, shown after the preset fields. A colon works too when a line has no pipe. For example:
Figma file | Included
Color modes | Light and dark
Different Values per Price Option
On a download with variable pricing, each price option row gets a “Details table for this price” block with the fields from the download type. Leave a field blank to use the download’s value, which shows as the placeholder.
On the download page, the table updates as the shopper picks a price option. File values follow the files each option includes. If you change the Download type, update the download before editing price option details.
Place the Table With a Shortcode
[stackless_edd_product_details] prints the table anywhere. Outside a download page, add the download ID, and change the heading with title:
[stackless_edd_product_details id="123" title="Specs"]
The shortcode only prints for downloads with the table switched on, and prints nothing for a download whose table already showed on that page.
What Goes Into the Schema
With Structured data on, the details are added to the Product structured data EDD prints on download pages:
- Brand, GTIN, Model number (MPN), Colors, Size, Material and Country of origin map to their schema.org properties. A brand you enter replaces the store name EDD uses as the brand.
- An ISBN-13 is added as
gtin13when there’s no GTIN. - Condition is added to each offer as
itemCondition. - Weight and Dimensions are added only with a recognized unit such as kg, g, lb, oz, cm, mm, in or m. Dimensions need three numbers, such as 20 × 15 × 3 cm.
- Other fields, such as Version, License, Author and Pages, are added as
additionalPropertyvalues.
Values that differ per price option stay on the page and aren’t added to the schema.
