Product Details Table and Schema

Updated October 17, 2026

Shoppers want the facts in one place: the brand, the size, the file format, the ISBN, what’s in the box. WooCommerce’s Additional information tab only shows attributes, weight and dimensions, so most stores paste a table into the description by hand and search engines never read it as product data.

Product Details Table adds a specifications table with presets for physical products, downloads, books, software and services. Many values fill in from data WooCommerce already has, variations can show their own values, and the details feed the product’s structured data.

Choose Where the Table Shows

Go to Stackless → Settings → Product Details Table:

  • Placement: Its own product tab (default), Inside the Additional information tab, Below the product summary, or Only where I place the shortcode.
  • Tab title: defaults to “Details”.
  • Table heading: defaults to “Specifications”. Leave it blank for no heading.
  • Structured data: add details to the product schema (brand, GTIN, MPN, condition, weight, dimensions, other properties). On by default.

On block themes, Below the product summary places the table just above the Product Details block.

Fill In a Product’s Details

Turning the module on changes no product page by itself. Each product needs its table switched on:

  1. Edit the product and open Product data → Details. The tab isn’t shown for grouped products.
  2. Pick a Product type. This decides which fields appear.
  3. Tick Details table to show the table on the product page.
  4. Fill in the fields. Tick Hide next to any field you don’t want in the table.
  5. Update the product.

The Product type presets are:

  • Physical product: Brand, Model number, GTIN / UPC / EAN, Condition, Colors, Size, Material, Dimensions, Weight, In the box, Country of origin, Warranty.
  • Digital download: File type, File size, Files included, Pages, Version, Last updated, Requirements, License, Delivery.
  • Book or ebook: Author, Publisher, Publication date, Edition, Language, Pages, Format, ISBN-13, ISBN-10, File type, File size, Dimensions, Weight.
  • Software or plugin: Version, Last updated, Requirements, Works with, File type, File size, License, Sites or devices, Support, Updates, Documentation, Live demo.
  • Course or service: Duration, Format, Level, Language, Includes, Access, Delivery time, Location.
  • Custom details only: no preset fields.

A new product starts on Digital download if it’s downloadable, Course or service if it’s virtual, and Physical product otherwise.

Values That Fill In Automatically

Grey placeholder values come from WooCommerce data and are used when you leave a box empty:

  • Brand from the product’s brands
  • GTIN from WooCommerce’s GTIN, UPC, EAN or ISBN field, plus ISBN-13 and ISBN-10 when the GTIN is an ISBN
  • Weight and dimensions with your store units
  • File type, file size, files included and last updated for downloadable products
  • Language from your site language

Delivery suggests “Instant download after payment” until you type your own.

Validation

Fields are checked when you save, and a problem shows as a notice instead of saving bad data:

  • GTIN must be 8, 12, 13 or 14 digits with a valid check digit.
  • Enter either ISBN and the other is worked out for you. ISBNs starting with 979 have no ISBN-10.
  • Dates use YYYY-MM-DD, numbers must be whole numbers, and Documentation and Live demo must be web addresses.
  • List fields such as Colors take comma-separated values.

Add Extra Rows

Extra details takes one row per line as Name | Value, up to 20 rows, shown after the preset fields. For example:

Care | Machine wash cold
Certified | OEKO-TEX

Different Values per Variation

On a variable product, each variation gets a Product details for this variation block with the fields from the product’s preset. Leave a field blank to use the product’s value. On the product page, the table updates as the shopper picks a variation. If you change the Product type, update the product before editing variation details.

Place the Table With a Shortcode

[stackless_product_details] prints the table anywhere. Outside a product page, add the product ID, and change the heading with title:

[stackless_product_details id="123" title="Specs"]

The table prints once per product per page, so a shortcode won’t duplicate the automatic placement.

What Goes Into the Schema

With Structured data on, brand, GTIN, model number (MPN), color, size, material, country of origin, weight, dimensions and condition map to their schema.org properties. An ISBN-13 is added as gtin13. Other fields are added as additionalProperty values. Values that differ per variation stay on the page and aren’t added to the schema. Weight and dimensions are only added when they use a recognized unit such as kg, g, lb, oz, cm, mm, in or m.
