Bluehost Black Friday Deals: Up to 81% Off and the Real Renewal Price

Bluehost’s Black Friday is short. Last year it ran for ten days around Thanksgiving, from November 20 to 30, while Hostinger’s ran for eight weeks. If Bluehost is the host you want, that week is when you buy it.

The headline was up to 81% off, with Starter at $1.99 a month. That price needs a 36-month term, and it stops at the renewal, where Starter costs $9.99 and Business $13.99. The bigger leak is at checkout. Paid add-ons arrive pre-ticked, and together they can cost more each month than the plan you came for.

I have set up Bluehost for a good number of client sites, usually for owners who already knew the name and asked for it, and the steps I follow are in my Bluehost business website guide. It is a safe first host. This year it is also a host in the middle of a move, because Bluehost is shifting every account onto Oracle Cloud.

Bluehost Plans and Black Friday Prices

Basic, Choice Plus and Online Store are gone; the shared plans are now Starter, Business and eCommerce Essentials. Prices below are on the 36-month term:

PlanTodayLast Black FridayRenews atSites and storage
Business$6.99/moPart of the up-to-81% sale$13.99/mo50 sites, 50 GB NVMe
Starter$3.99/mo$1.99/mo$9.99/mo10 sites, 10 GB NVMe
eCommerce Essentials$14.99/moPart of the up-to-81% sale$21.99/mo100 sites, 100 GB NVMe

Halving Starter from $3.99 to $1.99 is a real cut, and it is the one number Bluehost’s sale actually moved. Nothing in the renewal column changed.

Untick These at Checkout

Every Bluehost checkout I have done for a client had paid extras already selected. Names and prices change from season to season, so treat this as a pattern rather than a price list:

  • A security add-on such as SiteLock. Free Cloudflare plus a security plugin covers a new site; Cloudflare for WordPress walks through the free setup.
  • A backup add-on such as CodeGuard. UpdraftPlus to Google Drive or Dropbox costs nothing and keeps the copy off Bluehost’s servers.
  • An SEO tool. Free WordPress SEO plugins do more than the add-on.
  • Paid domain privacy. Check whether your extension already gets it free.

Before you pay, multiply the plan price by 36. If the cart total is higher than that, something is still ticked.

The Thanksgiving-Week Window

  • Dates last year: November 20 to 30, 2025
  • Headline: plans from $1.99/mo, up to 81% off, on 36 months
  • Included: a free domain for year one, free SSL, AI site creation tools
  • Code: none, the sale price showed on the page

On 12-month terms the monthly price is higher, so a 1-year Bluehost plan bought in the sale is a weaker deal than it looks.

Which Bluehost Plan

Business

Business is the plan I would buy and the one I would put a client on.

  • $6.99/mo on 36 months, renews at $13.99/mo
  • 50 websites, 50 GB NVMe storage
  • AI-powered malware detection and removal
  • Free domain for the first year, free SSL

Three dollars more than Starter gets you five times the storage, and 50 GB will hold any blog or small business site for years. Its sibling at the same parent company, HostGator Business, costs $8 a month more on renewal for an identical site limit, which tells you how loosely these list prices are set.

Starter

Starter is the plan behind the $1.99 headline, and it suits exactly one site.

  • $3.99/mo on 36 months today, $1.99/mo last Black Friday, renews at $9.99/mo
  • 10 websites, 10 GB NVMe storage
  • Free domain for the first year, free SSL, malware detection and removal

The 10-site limit is generous on the label and the 10 GB is tight in practice. One blog fits; three sites with product photos will not.

eCommerce Essentials

eCommerce Essentials is what Bluehost recommends for WooCommerce.

  • $14.99/mo on 36 months, renews at $21.99/mo
  • 100 websites, 100 GB NVMe storage
  • WooCommerce-focused tools on top of Business

At $21.99 on renewal it lands close to Hostinger Cloud Startup, which gives a store its own resources. For a store already taking orders, I would also price a Cloudways server before picking this.

Three Years of Bluehost

PlanMonthly on 36 monthsPaid upfrontYearly from year four
Starter at last year’s sale price$1.99$71.64$119.88
Starter today$3.99$143.64$119.88
Business today$6.99$251.64$167.88
eCommerce Essentials today$14.99$539.64$263.88

Under $72 for three years of Starter is as cheap as WordPress hosting from a big brand gets. Business costs $180 more over the same term, which is worth it only if a second or third site is likely.

Bluehost’s Oracle Cloud Move and Other Changes

The changes at Bluehost this year sit under the hood more than on the price list:

  • 2021: Newfold Digital. Endurance International and Web.com merged into Newfold Digital, the owner of Bluehost and HostGator.
  • November 2025: Oracle Cloud. Bluehost reported nearly a million accounts moved to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure with 4 to 5 times better median response times, and set 2026 for finishing the rest.
  • By 2026: New names, NVMe everywhere. Starter, Business and eCommerce Essentials replaced the old plans, all on NVMe.
  • July 2026: AI agents. AI Site, AI Store and an AI Front Desk agent arrived on top of the hosting plans.
  • October 1, 2026: New Newfold CEO. Sachin Puri took over from Sharon Rowlands, who became executive chair. Finishing the Oracle migration is now his job.

Better Fits Than Bluehost

  • A longer locked price: Hostinger sells 48 months at its promo rate; Bluehost stops at 36.
  • The smallest 3-year bill: Namecheap beats Bluehost for a few small sites.
  • WordPress handled for you: WPX costs more and does the maintenance.

All of these sit side by side in my Black Friday hosting comparison.

Bluehost Black Friday Questions

When is the Bluehost Black Friday sale?

Around Thanksgiving week. Last year it ran from November 20 to 30, 2025.

How cheap does Bluehost get on Black Friday?

Last year Starter fell to $1.99 a month on a 36-month term, against $3.99 today.

What does Bluehost cost after the first term?

Starter renews at $9.99 a month, Business at $13.99 and eCommerce Essentials at $21.99.

Do I need a Bluehost coupon?

No. What you do need is to untick the pre-selected add-ons before paying.

Is Bluehost still slow?

Accounts already moved to Oracle Cloud saw 4 to 5 times better median response times, per Bluehost. Your theme, plugins and caching still matter more than the host for most sites.

Does Bluehost have a money-back guarantee?

Yes, 30 days on hosting.

Should You Buy Bluehost This Black Friday?

Yes, for anyone who wants a familiar name and buy Business on 36 months during Thanksgiving week with every add-on unticked. That is three years of solid shared hosting for about $250. If the brand name doesn’t matter to you, the comparison above will usually find you a lower renewal.
