Proton Black Friday Deals 2026
Proton is the one brand on my Black Friday list that I’m deliberately waiting on. I’ve used Proton’s apps before, but I already pay for NordVPN, so I’m holding off on Proton VPN until my plan comes up next year.
You may face a similar choice, because Proton sells 5 things with 5 separate discounts: a VPN, email, a password manager, cloud storage and the Unlimited bundle of all four. Last year the cuts ran from 50% to 70%, and almost all of them were on 12-month plans that go back to the full yearly price in year 2.
My advice is simple. If you want 3 or more Proton apps, I’d wait for the Proton Unlimited deal, which was $6.49 a month last Black Friday. If you only want a VPN, Proton VPN Plus at about $2.99 a month in year 1 was the better buy.
Proton hasn’t announced 2026 dates. Its 2025 deals were live by November 3, so I’d expect this year’s in early November, a few weeks before November 27.
Proton Black Friday 2026
Here’s where the Proton sale stands today:
- Is there a deal? Not yet. Proton’s Black Friday page still says last year’s sale is over.
- When to expect it: early November, going by last year, when deals ran from early November to December 3, 2025.
- How it worked last year: discounts were applied through Proton’s deal links, with no code to type.
- Plan length: the main deals were on 12-month plans only.
Proton Black Friday 2025 Deals
Proton takes its percentage off the regular monthly price, billed for a year. These were last year’s main offers:
| Product | Discount | Sale price, first year | Regular yearly price now |
|---|---|---|---|
| Proton VPN Plus | 70% off | About $35.88 ($2.99 a month) | $53.88 |
| Proton Mail Plus | 50% off | $29.88 ($2.49 a month) | $47.88 |
| Proton Pass Plus | 60% off | About $23.88 ($1.99 a month) | $35.88 |
| Proton Drive Plus | 50% off | About $29.88 ($2.49 a month) | $47.88 |
| Proton Unlimited | 50% off | $77.88 ($6.49 a month) | $119.88 |
If Proton repeats those percentages this year, the 2026 sale prices should land close to last year’s.
In the final days, Proton also ran a 24-month flash sale: 80% off the VPN, 60% off Mail and Drive and 65% off Pass. Some sites carried 2-year VPN Plus at $2.49 a month ($59.76) until December 7.
Which Proton Plan Is Worth It on Black Friday
I’d decide by how many Proton apps you’ll actually open every week:
- Just a VPN: Proton VPN Plus. Its 70% cut is the deepest in the sale, and it covers 10 devices.
- Just private email: Proton Mail Plus, with custom domain support and 15GB of storage.
- Just passwords: Proton Pass Plus, the cheapest deal in the sale and a good switch from a browser’s built-in password manager.
- Three or more apps: Proton Unlimited. It includes Mail, VPN, Pass, Drive with 500GB and Calendar, and last year’s $77.88 beat buying VPN, Mail and Pass separately at their sale prices ($89.64). For just 2 apps, the separate plans were cheaper.

Proton Duo and Family weren’t really discounted last year. The “deal” prices some sites listed matched Proton’s normal 12-month prices of $179.88 and $287.88.
What Happens After Year 1
This is the part of a Proton deal that most pages skip:
- VPN Plus renews at $83.88 a year after the first term. It’s the only Proton plan whose regular yearly price is higher than its first-year price today.
- The Black Friday price lasts one term. A 12-month deal renews at the regular yearly price, so last year’s $77.88 Unlimited deal now renews at $119.88.
- Refunds: Proton gives you 30 days to ask for your money back on paid plans.
So a 24-month deal, if Proton runs one again, locks in the low price for longer, and that’s the one I’d wait for if you plan to stay.
Proton VPN vs NordVPN and Surfshark
NordVPN and Surfshark have their Black Friday sales live already, so here’s how last year’s Proton VPN price compares:
| VPN | Sale price | Length | Then |
|---|---|---|---|
| Proton VPN Plus | About $35.88 (last year) | 12 months | $83.88 a year |
| NordVPN Basic | $94.23 | 27 months | $139.08 a year |
| Surfshark One | $67.23 | 27 months | $99 a year |
Proton is the one to pick if you want Swiss privacy law and a free tier to try first. For a single VPN at the lowest cost over 2 years, Surfshark’s live deal is hard to beat, and the other providers are in my VPN Black Friday roundup.
If storage is the main job, Proton Drive sits next to pCloud and Sync.com in my cloud storage Black Friday comparison.
What to Expect From Proton This Year
Based on last year’s sale, this is my outlook:
- Likely: a sale starting in early November with 50% to 70% off 12-month plans.
- Likely: Proton Unlimited near $6.49 a month in year 1 again.
- Possible: a 24-month flash sale in the first days of December.
- Unlikely: real discounts on Duo or Family plans.
Proton Black Friday FAQs
When does the Proton Black Friday sale start?
Proton hasn’t announced its 2026 dates yet. Last year’s deals were live by November 3 and ended on December 3, 2025, with a 24-month flash sale in the final days.
What was the Proton VPN Black Friday deal last year?
Proton VPN Plus was 70% off a 12-month plan, about $2.99 a month or $35.88 for the year. A later 24-month deal brought it to about $2.49 a month.
Is Proton Unlimited worth it on Black Friday?
Yes, if you’ll use 3 or more Proton apps. Last year it cost $77.88 for the first year with Mail, VPN, Pass, Drive with 500GB and Calendar, less than the $89.64 for VPN, Mail and Pass bought separately at their sale prices.
Does Proton’s Black Friday price apply to renewals?
No. The sale price covers the first term only. After that, the plan renews at Proton’s regular yearly price, such as $119.88 for Unlimited.
Does Proton Mail have a Black Friday deal?
It did last year: Mail Plus was 50% off, $2.49 a month across its first year. Proton hasn’t confirmed this year’s offer yet.
Wait or Buy Now?
If you’re tempted to buy now, I’d hold off. Proton’s regular prices run about 1.5 times last year’s Black Friday prices, and the sale should be only a couple of weeks away.
Until then, Proton’s free plans for Mail, VPN and Pass let you check which apps you’d really use. The current plans are on Proton’s pricing page.
