Surfshark switched on its Black Friday prices in mid-October this year, about 6 weeks before Black Friday itself. I’ve used Surfshark in the past and pay for NordVPN today, so I read its sale the way most people do: is it cheap enough to be worth switching?
The pricing page doesn’t make that easy. Three plans sit side by side, two of them cost exactly $67.23 for 27 months, and the renewal price only shows up in the fine print. Starter has also gone up by $13.50 since last November, when it sold for $1.99 a month.
Here’s what I’d do. Skip Starter and buy the 2-year Surfshark One plan at $2.49 a month. It costs the same as Starter, adds antivirus and scam protection, and renews at $99 a year, about $40 less than NordVPN Basic. The sale is already live, so waiting for Black Friday itself saves you nothing.

Here’s what each plan costs in the sale and what Surfshark bills you after it:

Starter and One cost the same up front, and One only costs $20 a year more at renewal. That’s why I’d treat One as the real entry plan this Black Friday.
What Each Surfshark Plan Includes
All 3 plans include the VPN, Alternative ID and unlimited devices. The higher tiers add these:
- Starter: the VPN, an ad and tracker blocker, and Alternative ID for a spare email and identity.
- One: everything in Starter, plus antivirus, real-time breach alerts and the scam protection Surfshark added in 2026.
- One+: everything in One, plus Incogni data removal, which asks data brokers to delete your details. US residents also get up to $1 million in identity theft coverage.
One+ is the only plan I’d consider beyond One, and only if you want Incogni. Bought separately, a year of Incogni costs more than the $40.50 gap between the two 2-year plans.
Last Year vs This Year
Surfshark’s 2025 sale ran from October 20 to early December, with the same 3 extra months on 2-year plans:

So the 2 cheaper plans cost more than last November, and One+ got cheaper. If you were waiting for last year’s $1.99 Starter price, I don’t expect it back this year.
The Fine Print
These are the parts of the deal I’d read before paying:
- The renewal is yearly. A 2-year plan renews at the 1-year price ($79, $99 or $119) after the first 27 months.
- The refund is for first purchases only. Surfshark’s 30-day money-back guarantee doesn’t cover a renewal.
- Monthly plans get no sale price. At $18.95 to $22.85 a month, 4 months of monthly billing cost more than the whole 27-month Starter plan.
- Prices can vary by country, and tax is added at checkout in some regions.

Last year’s deal coverage shows the same 2-year prices from late October to early December. This is how I’d read the next 5 weeks:
- Likely: today’s prices lasting through Cyber Monday on November 30.
- Possible: an extra free month or a gift card in the final week.
- Unlikely: Starter or One back at last year’s $1.99 or $2.19.
