Video Editing Software Black Friday Deals 2026

If you’re waiting for video editing software Black Friday deals, I’d look at the calendar first. The best discount I can find right now ends a week before Black Friday, and most of the others haven’t posted a price yet. You could wait until November 27 and pay $59 more for the editor you wanted.

My advice is simple. I’d try the free version of DaVinci Resolve, and buy Studio by November 20 only if you need what it adds. If you’re set on Creative Cloud, I’d wait for Black Friday, because Adobe’s current 50% off lasts 3 months and last year’s lasted 12.

DaVinci Resolve Studio is the paid version of Blackmagic Design’s editor, sold for a single price with no subscription listed. It’s $236 instead of $295 until November 20, and I can’t find anything saying the sale will extend or return.

Before the details, here’s where each editor stands.

Video Editing Software Black Friday Deals at a Glance

Video editing Black Friday: DaVinci Resolve Studio at $236 instead of $295 until November 20, with Premiere at $22.99 a month and Final Cut Pro at $299.99 once.

Prices are in US dollars before tax. Black Friday is November 27 and Cyber Monday is November 30.

Best Video Editing Software Deals

I’ve put these in the order I’d look at them. If you want more detail on how they edit, my list of the best video editing software covers that side.

DaVinci Resolve

DaVinci Resolve is the first one I’d try, because the free version already edits and finishes video up to Ultra HD at 60 fps. Studio is worth buying only when you hit one of its limits.

Studio adds these things the free version doesn’t have:

  • AI tools such as voice isolation and dialogue separation
  • Output above Ultra HD at 60 fps
  • Multiple GPU support, plus hardware H.264 and H.265 decoding and encoding
  • Dolby Vision and HDR10+ grading
  • 45 extra effects, including AI noise reduction

The sale also covers Blackmagic’s editing hardware while stocks last, with the Speed Editor at $349 instead of $435 and the Editor Keyboard at $535 instead of $669. Press reports found $239 on some product cards at launch, so you should check the price at checkout.

I couldn’t find a Black Friday offer on Studio in 2024 or 2025, which is why I wouldn’t wait for one.

Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Pro is the one I’d pick if you only edit on a Mac and want to pay once. I found no Apple discount on it in 2024, 2025 or today, so a sale isn’t a reason to wait.

  • Mac: $299.99 once, with a 30-day free trial
  • iPad and Mac together: Apple Creator Studio at $12.99 a month or $129 a year, with Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro and Motion included
  • New iPad or Mac: 3 months of Creator Studio free, claimed within 3 months of activating the device
  • Students and educators: Creator Studio at $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year, which Apple says may end at any time

The one-time price is cheaper than Creator Studio after about 28 months on annual billing. If you’d use Logic Pro or edit on an iPad, the subscription makes more sense.

Adobe Premiere

Adobe is the one sale I’d wait for, as long as you need the full Creative Cloud. The current offer is easy to mistake for last year’s Black Friday deal, and it’s worth far less.

OfferMonthly priceHow longFirst-year cost
Live now$34.99First 3 months, then $69.99$734.88
Black Friday last year$34.97First 12 months$419.64
  • Premiere alone: $22.99 a month on an annual plan. Last year’s reports describe no single-app discount.
  • Who qualified last year: first-time subscribers only, and existing customers were excluded. It ended on November 28 and renewed at the standard rate.
  • Students and teachers: Creative Cloud Pro is already $19.99 a month for the first year, then $39.99.
  • Cancelling: Adobe gives a full refund within 14 days. There’s no one-time license for Premiere.

If you only need Premiere, a Creative Cloud deal may still cost you more. At $34.97 a month, you’d pay about $12 a month over the single-app price for apps you may never open.

CapCut

CapCut is the hardest one here to price, because it publishes no fixed price. Its help pages say the amount depends on your region, device and available promotions, and you see the final figure on the payment page.

  • Reported Pro price: $19.99 a month or $179.99 a year, from third-party reviews and not from CapCut
  • Black Friday: I found no offer for this year. One roundup listed about 40% off annual last year, with no terms I could confirm
  • Renewal: plans auto-renew, so you should cancel at least 24 hours before the date
  • iPad: CapCut said in January that its iPad app wasn’t in the US App Store and suggested the browser version

CapCut suits short videos edited on a phone or in a browser. Two people can see different prices for the same plan, so I’d compare the checkout price with the reported $179.99 before paying.

Filmora

Filmora is the low-cost pick if you work on Windows and Mac and want 4K export. Waiting may not save you much, because the extra 10% at checkout today matches last year’s deal on Advanced.

  • Advanced: $59.99 a year, and last Black Friday it was $53.99
  • 2024 price: $47.99 a year for Advanced, at 20% off, so a bigger cut has happened before
  • Past sale dates: November 12 to December 8 last year, and November 14 to December 6 in 2024
  • One-time license: it’s tied to one device and gets updates only within Filmora 16, so it won’t bring you new major versions
  • Free version: exports carry a watermark

Descript

Descript lets you edit a video by editing its transcript, and it’s the one I wouldn’t time around Black Friday at all. Last year’s reported offer was bonus credits on annual plans and no price cut.

  • Hobbyist: $16 a month billed yearly or $24 monthly, with 10 media hours a month
  • Creator: $24 a month billed yearly or $35 monthly, with 30 media hours a month
  • Free: 60 media minutes a month and 720p export, with a watermark

Camtasia

Camtasia is a screen recorder and editor for tutorials and training videos, and it’s in my own toolkit. It’s the one here that got better on Cyber Monday last year, when 50% off with code CYBER50 appeared after no discount on November 22.

  • Essentials today: $179.88 a year, the first plan with watermark-free exports
  • At 50% off: $89.94 for the first year, if the deal returns
  • Standing discounts: SAVE10 takes 10% off the first year, and students get 60% off in the US, UK and Canada

PowerDirector

PowerDirector is the cheapest one-time option here. The 2027 version is $139.99 with core tools, while the 365 subscription adds new AI features and stock assets.

  • 365: shown at $59.99 for a year instead of $79.99
  • Director Suite: shown at $109.99 instead of $149.99
  • Free version: PowerDirector Essential has no time limit, with some AI tools and export options restricted

The page still carried a Halloween banner saying the sale ended on October 31, so those 2 sale prices may not last. Its Black Friday price isn’t posted yet, so I’d look again around mid-November.

What These Editors Cost Over 3 Years

A first-year discount can hide the difference between paying once and paying forever. This is what each one costs across 36 months, assuming no price rises and no paid upgrades:

Editor and planType3-year cost
DaVinci Resolve, freeFree$0
PowerDirector 2027One-time$139.99
Filmora AdvancedSubscription$179.97
DaVinci Resolve Studio, sale priceOne-time$236
Final Cut Pro for MacOne-time$299.99
Apple Creator Studio, annualSubscription$387
Camtasia EssentialsSubscription$539.64
CapCut Pro, at the reported annual priceSubscription$539.97
Descript Hobbyist, billed yearlySubscription$576
Adobe Premiere aloneSubscription$827.64
Creative Cloud Pro, with today’s offerSubscription$2,414.64

So Resolve Studio at $236 pays for itself against Premiere alone in about 10 months. If Adobe repeated last year’s deal, Creative Cloud Pro would still come to $2,099.40 over 3 years. So a big first-year discount changes little when the renewal stays at $69.99.

Which Video Editor Should You Buy?

The right editor depends more on how you work than on the sale, so I’d match it to your situation first:

  • You want a capable editor for free: DaVinci Resolve, up to Ultra HD at 60 fps.
  • You want to own it and you need Resolve’s AI audio tools or HDR: Studio, by November 20.
  • You edit only on a Mac: Final Cut Pro at $299.99.
  • You edit on an iPad too: Apple Creator Studio.
  • You work with others who use Adobe files: Premiere alone, or Creative Cloud Pro at Black Friday if you need the other apps.
  • You make short videos on a phone: CapCut, at whatever your account is charged.
  • You record tutorials: Camtasia, at Cyber Monday if the deal returns.

FAQs on Video Editing Software Black Friday Deals

Does DaVinci Resolve Studio go on sale for Black Friday?

I couldn’t find a Black Friday sale on it in 2024 or 2025. This year’s 20% off runs through November 20, and Creative Bloq called the discount very rare in its headline.

Is the free version of DaVinci Resolve enough?

For many people, yes. It edits and finishes up to Ultra HD at 60 fps. You’d pay for Studio when you need its AI tools, multiple GPU support or HDR delivery.

Can existing Adobe customers get the Black Friday price?

Last year’s deal was for first-time subscribers, and Macworld reported that existing customers were excluded. Adobe hasn’t posted its terms for this year.

Does a Studio license work on more than one computer?

Forum posts and guides say one key activates on 2 computers at once, and a third deactivates an earlier one. I couldn’t confirm that on a Blackmagic page, so you should check before relying on it.

Final Remarks

If you’re still torn, I’d start with the free version of DaVinci Resolve this week, because you’ll know within a few edits whether it’s enough. That leaves you time to decide on Studio before November 20.

If you need Adobe, I’d hold off until the sale starts and check that the price lasts 12 months. The other software offers I track are in my software and SaaS Black Friday deals.
