Chromebook Black Friday Deals 2026
I get why Chromebook shopping got confusing this year. Google launched its first Googlebooks in October, Chromebook Plus prices went up with memory costs, and the cheapest listings still sell Chromebooks whose updates end in a few years.
A wrong pick costs you twice. A $200 Chromebook with 4GB of RAM feels slow by spring. A model whose updates end in 2032 also misses the move to Google’s new software that newer models are promised.
My advice is simple. Pick a Chromebook Plus supported until June 2035, such as the Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514, and wait for a price close to last year’s sale. I’d leave Googlebooks alone this year unless you were already planning to spend $900 or more.
Where I found last year’s sale price, the price I’d wait for below is based on it. Black Friday is on November 27.
Chromebook Black Friday Prices at a Glance
I’d look at these 11 Chromebooks, from a $180 budget laptop to an OLED Chromebook Plus:
| Chromebook | Updates until | Price now | Black Friday 2025 | Price I’d wait for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 | June 2035 | $635 | $549 | $549 or less |
| Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 OLED | June 2035 | $999 | $683.49 | Under $700 |
| Acer Chromebook Plus 514 | June 2035 | About $350 to $460 | No clear sale price | Under $350 |
| Lenovo Chromebook Plus 2-in-1 14 | Check the model | $599.99 | No clear sale price | $399 or less |
| ASUS Chromebook Plus CX14 | June 2035 | About $500 | No clear sale price | Under $400 |
| HP Chromebook Plus x360 14b | Check the model | About $400 | $379 | Under $380 |
| Acer Chromebook Plus 516 | Check the model | $499 | No clear sale price | Under $400 |
| ASUS Chromebook Plus CX34 | June 2032 | Mostly renewed units | $225.99 renewed | Under $250 |
| Lenovo Chromebook Duet Gen 9 | June 2034 | $629.99 for 8GB | $199.99 for 4GB | Under $300 for 8GB |
| HP Chromebook 14 | Check the model | About $300 | Budget models $109 to $199 | Under $200 |
| ASUS Chromebook CM14 | Check the model | About $180 | Budget models $109 to $199 | Under $150 |
Best Buy and the maker’s own store set most of these prices, and retailers will move them during sale week. “Check the model” means the update date depends on the exact model number, which you can look up on Google’s Auto Update policy page.
Chromebook, Chromebook Plus or Googlebook?
Google now sells 3 kinds of laptops, and the difference decides how long yours stays useful:
- Chromebook Plus is the tier I’d buy. It needs at least a 12th-gen Core i3, a Ryzen 3 7000 or an equal MediaTek chip. It also needs 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a 1080p webcam and a Full HD screen.
- A regular Chromebook can ship with 4GB of RAM and a slower chip. It’s fine for a child’s homework or a backup laptop, and it gets slow once a browser has 10 tabs open.
- A Googlebook runs Googlebook OS, Google’s new Android-based laptop software. Every launch model has 16GB of RAM and a premium chip, and prices start at $899.
- The update date matters more than ever. ChromeOS gets updates through mid-2034. Google has promised Chromebooks supported past 2034 a path to Googlebook OS, but it hasn’t published the list of models yet.
So a Chromebook with a June 2035 update date is the one I’d treat as future-proof, and anything ending in 2032 or 2033 is a short-term buy.
Googlebook Black Friday Prices
Googlebooks went on sale in the US on October 4, 2026, so this is their first Black Friday. Here are the 5 launch models:
| Googlebook | Chip | Screen | Price now |
|---|---|---|---|
| Acer Googlebook 14 | Intel Core Ultra Series 3 | 14-inch 2.8K OLED, convertible | $899 |
| Dell XPS Googlebook | Snapdragon X Elite | 13.4-inch 2.5K touch | $999.99 |
| Lenovo Googlebook 15 | Intel Core Ultra 5 Series 3 | 15.3-inch 2.8K OLED | $1,149 on the Google Store |
| ASUS Googlebook 14 | Intel Core Ultra Series 3 | 14-inch 2.8K OLED | $1,299 at launch |
| HP Googlebook 14 | Snapdragon X Elite | 14-inch 2.8K OLED | $1,299 at launch |
Every Googlebook comes with extras Google values at $500. The bundle includes a year of Google AI Pro with 5TB of storage, 3 months of YouTube Premium, Adobe Photoshop, CapCut and a year of GeForce NOW. Each one also gets up to 10 years of updates.
No retailer has discounted a Googlebook yet, and I haven’t seen any reporting on Black Friday plans for them. A first cut of $100 to $150 on the Acer or Dell model wouldn’t surprise me. I’d still treat Googlebooks as a laptop to buy in 2027, once Android app support on them has had a few updates.
If you’d rather spend $900 on something proven, my roundup of Black Friday student laptop deals lines up the MacBook Neo against Windows laptops at that price.
Best Chromebook Black Friday Deals
Every card lists the specs, the current price, last November’s sale price where one exists and my target price. Amazon India doesn’t sell Chromebook Plus models, so only the Duet and the 2 budget Chromebooks have an India button.
Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514

If I could only recommend one Chromebook this year, it would be Acer’s Spin 514. It folds into a tablet, runs MediaTek’s fastest Chromebook chip with 12GB of RAM and stays supported until June 2035.
- Specs: MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910, 12GB, 256GB, 14-inch 1920×1200 touchscreen
- Today: $635 at Best Buy
- Last Black Friday: $549 at Best Buy
- Wait for: $549 or less
- Bonus: a year of Google AI Pro, redeemable until January 31, 2027
Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 OLED

Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 has the best screen on any Chromebook here, a 14-inch OLED touchscreen, with the same MediaTek Kompanio Ultra chip and 16GB of RAM.
- Specs: MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910, 16GB, 256GB, 14-inch OLED touchscreen
- Today: $999 at Best Buy, $1,269.99 on Lenovo.com
- Last Black Friday: $683.49; it also hit $679 in a one-day Best Buy deal on October 15
- Wait for: under $700
- Supported until: June 2035
Its price rose about $300 since last November, so I wouldn’t pay anything close to $999 for it.
Acer Chromebook Plus 514

Acer Chromebook Plus 514 is the value Chromebook Plus I’d pick for a student on a budget. It meets every Chromebook Plus requirement and stays supported until June 2035.
- Specs: Intel Core 3 N355, 8GB, 128GB to 512GB, 14-inch 1920×1200 touchscreen
- Today: about $350 to $460, depending on storage and store
- Earlier this year: $329.99 for the 512GB model at Costco
- Wait for: under $350
- Pass on it if: you want a 2-in-1, since this one doesn’t fold
Lenovo Chromebook Plus 2-in-1 14

Lenovo Chromebook Plus 2-in-1 14 is the cheapest convertible Chromebook Plus I’d consider, with a 14-inch touchscreen that folds into a tablet for notes and reading.
- Specs: Intel Core 3 N355, 8GB, 128GB, 14-inch 1920×1200 touchscreen
- Today: $599.99 at Best Buy, $799.99 on Lenovo.com
- Recent low: $399 at Best Buy on October 16
- Wait for: $399 or less
ASUS Chromebook Plus CX14

ASUS Chromebook Plus CX14 is a plain, sturdy 14-inch Chromebook Plus with updates until June 2035. I’d buy it only when it’s cheaper than the Acer Chromebook Plus 514.
- Specs: Intel Core 3, 8GB, 14-inch Full HD touchscreen
- Today: about $500
- Last Black Friday: no clear sale price for this model
- Wait for: under $400
HP Chromebook Plus x360 14b

HP Chromebook Plus x360 14b is a 2-in-1 Chromebook Plus that HP and Walmart discount often. It uses an older Intel chip, so check its update date before buying.
- Specs: Intel Core i3-N305, 8GB, 128GB to 256GB, 14-inch Full HD touchscreen
- Today: about $400
- Last Black Friday: $379 at Walmart for the 128GB model
- Wait for: under $380
Acer Chromebook Plus 516

Acer Chromebook Plus 516 is the big-screen pick, a 16-inch Chromebook Plus for spreadsheets and split-screen research.
- Specs: Intel Core i3-1315U, 8GB, 128GB, 16-inch 1920×1200 screen
- Today: $499 at Best Buy
- Last Black Friday: no clear sale price for this model
- Wait for: under $400
- Pass on it if: it goes in your bag every day, since 16 inches is a lot to haul between classes
ASUS Chromebook Plus CX34

ASUS Chromebook Plus CX34 was one of the first Chromebook Plus models, and it’s still a good laptop. Its updates end in June 2032, so I’d only buy one cheap.
- Specs: Intel Core i3-1215U, 8GB, 128GB to 256GB, 14-inch Full HD screen
- Today: mostly sold as renewed units
- Last Black Friday: $225.99 renewed on Amazon
- Wait for: under $250, renewed
- Supported until: June 2032
Lenovo Chromebook Duet Gen 9

Lenovo Chromebook Duet Gen 9 is an 11-inch Chromebook tablet with a detachable keyboard. It isn’t a Chromebook Plus, so I’d buy it as a reading and note-taking tablet next to a main laptop.
- Specs: MediaTek Kompanio 838, 8GB, 128GB, 10.95-inch 1920×1200 touchscreen
- Today: $629.99 for 8GB/128GB on Lenovo.com
- Last Black Friday: $199.99 for the 4GB/64GB model at Amazon
- Wait for: under $300 for the 8GB model
- Supported until: June 2034
HP Chromebook 14

HP Chromebook 14 is a basic Chromebook with a MediaTek Kompanio 540 chip and 4GB of RAM. It suits a child’s homework or a spare laptop, and a student would outgrow it fast.
- Specs: MediaTek Kompanio 540, 4GB, 64GB to 128GB, 14-inch HD screen
- Today: about $300
- Last Black Friday: budget Chromebooks like this sold for $109 to $199
- Wait for: under $200
- Pass on it if: you open more than a few browser tabs at once
On Amazon India, the listing is the 128GB model, which has more storage than the US 64GB version.
ASUS Chromebook CM14

ASUS Chromebook CM14 is the cheapest Chromebook on this list. It’s fine for web browsing and video, and it’s the one I’d hand a young child.
- Specs: MediaTek Kompanio processor, 4GB, 64GB, 14-inch screen
- Today: about $180
- Last Black Friday: budget Chromebooks sold for $109 to $199
- Wait for: under $150
- Pass on it if: you want a sharp screen, since the US model is 1366×768
On Amazon India, the closest listing is the 2026 CM1405, which has a Full HD screen.
What’s Different This Year
Chromebooks didn’t escape the memory price rise, and Google changed the platform around them:
- Chromebook Plus prices went up. The Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 OLED sold for $683.49 last Black Friday and costs $999 at Best Buy now.
- Googlebooks arrived. Google announced them on May 12, 2026 and started selling them on October 4, from $899.
- ChromeOS got an end date. Updates continue through mid-2034, with a promised path to Googlebook OS for models supported past that.
- The Google AI Pro bonus was extended. New Chromebook Plus buyers can redeem 12 months of it until January 31, 2027. It renews at $19.99 a month if you don’t cancel.
How I’d Pick a Chromebook
I’d run every Chromebook through these checks before looking at the discount:
- Update date first. June 2035 is the date to look for on Google’s Auto Update policy page.
- 8GB of RAM at least. Every Chromebook Plus has it. A 4GB Chromebook is only for light use.
- The chip. MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 and Core i3 chips feel quick; the Core 3 N355 is fine for school work; Kompanio 540 is the slow budget tier.
- Software you need. A Chromebook can’t run Windows or Mac desktop apps such as full Microsoft Office, SPSS or SolidWorks.
- Touch and fold. A 2-in-1 helps with handwritten notes and reading. It adds weight and cost if you only type.
For year-round picks by student need, my guide to the best Chromebooks for students covers each check in more detail.
Chromebook Prices to Expect
From last year’s sales and today’s listings, here’s my outlook for November:
- Likely: Chromebook Plus models 10% to 30% off, landing near or a little above last year’s prices.
- Likely: budget Chromebooks under $200 again, mostly 4GB models.
- Possible: a first $100 to $150 cut on the Acer Googlebook 14 or the Dell XPS Googlebook.
- Possible: the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 OLED back under $700, as it was on October 15.
- Unlikely: deep cuts on the Lenovo, ASUS and HP Googlebooks in their first 2 months.
FAQs on Chromebook Black Friday Deals
What is the best Chromebook Black Friday deal?
The Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 at $549 or less is the one I’d buy. It has a fast MediaTek Kompanio Ultra chip, 12GB of RAM, a touchscreen that folds into a tablet and updates until June 2035.
Are Googlebooks on sale for Black Friday?
Not yet. Googlebooks went on sale on October 4, 2026 at $899 to $1,299, and no retailer has cut their prices so far. Each one includes a bundle Google values at $500, led by 12 months of Google AI Pro.
Will my Chromebook get Googlebook OS?
Google has promised a path to Googlebook OS for Chromebooks supported past 2034, which in practice means models with a June 2035 update date. It hasn’t published the list of eligible models yet.
Is a Chromebook Plus worth it over a regular Chromebook?
Yes, for a student’s main laptop. Chromebook Plus models have at least 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and a faster chip, while regular Chromebooks can ship with 4GB and slow down with a few tabs open.
How long do Chromebooks get updates?
Each Chromebook has its own Auto Update date, listed on Google’s policy page. New Chromebook Plus models get updates until June 2035, and ChromeOS itself gets updates through mid-2034.

Not easily. Amazon India mostly sells basic Chromebooks with MediaTek Kompanio 540 chips and 4GB of RAM, along with the Lenovo Chromebook Duet. Chromebook Plus models aren’t listed there.
Before You Pick One
If you’re torn between waiting for Googlebooks and buying a Chromebook now, I’d let your budget decide. Under $700, a Chromebook Plus with a June 2035 update date is the better buy, and Google has promised it a path to the new software later.
So I’d choose one Chromebook Plus from the cards above, write down its target price and wait until a store matches it. For everything else a student needs this sale, see my Black Friday deals for students roundup.
