Back-in-Stock Alerts lets a shopper ask for an availability email for an out-of-stock product option. The shopper confirms the request before joining the alert list.
This is a product-availability notification, not a newsletter subscription. It does not reserve a product or guarantee the shopper will be able to buy before stock sells out again.
Enable and Try the Form
Enable Back-in-Stock Alerts, then open a published product option that is genuinely out of stock. The form is tied to the product option, so availability for one variation does not stand in for every variation.
- Enter a test email address and accept the form’s consent statement.
- Open the confirmation email.
- Use the confirmation link and complete its explicit confirmation action.
- Check the subscription under FluentCart → Stock alerts.
- Restore stock through the normal FluentCart inventory controls.
- Confirm that the availability notification reaches the test inbox.
Manage Alerts
The Stock alerts workspace shows subscriptions and provides an action to run the availability check. Notification processing also depends on the store’s scheduled-task setup and working WordPress mail delivery.
- Unconfirmed requests are not treated as confirmed subscribers.
- Confirmed subscribers can receive an availability notice when the option becomes purchasable.
- The notification includes an unsubscribe route.
- A subscriber can withdraw their request.
Example: A Sold-Out Color
If the green option is unavailable but the white option is in stock, collect the alert for green. The customer should receive a message about the option they requested, not a generic announcement about the parent product.
If No Email Arrives
Check spam folders and WordPress mail delivery, confirm the request was actually confirmed, and verify that the exact variation is available to buy.
