What’s inside

All 17 units, in the official syllabus sequence.

From human evolution and fossil hominids to the tribal situation in India, in the order the syllabus lists them, so your notes and the paper agree on structure.

The coverage

both papers
  • Paper 1. Physical and Social Anthropology, unit by unit against the official syllabus.
  • Paper 2. Indian Anthropology, through to the tribal situation in India.
  • Named theorists and ethnographies. The people and studies your answers are expected to cite.
  • Previous-year questions. Mapped to each theme where they could be verified.

In every unit

the apparatus
  • A last-mile revision box. The final pass is a defined task, not a re-read.
  • A common-errors box. The confusions worth catching before the examiner does.
  • Comparison tables. Theorists and positions side by side, for faster passes.
  • Key-term glossaries. The vocabulary answer-writing runs on, in one place per unit.

Written for revision and answer-writing. Add it to your cart and the PDF and ePub download instantly.

Questions aspirants ask

Asked before downloading, answered straight.

Is it really free?

Yes. Completely free, with no sign-up and no watermark. Add it to your cart and the checkout creates your PDF and ePub download link instantly.

Why is there a checkout for a free book?

Checkout is just how the download link gets created on this site. There’s no payment step and no email wall attached to it.

Does it cover both papers?

Yes. All 17 units across Paper 1, Physical and Social Anthropology, and Paper 2, Indian Anthropology, in the official syllabus sequence.

Are previous-year questions included?

They’re mapped to each theme where they could be verified. Where a question couldn’t be verified against the theme, it isn’t in the book, because a wrongly attributed PYQ is worse than none.

Is this a first-read resource or revision notes?

Revision notes. They’re written for revision and answer-writing, so every unit is built to be re-entered quickly rather than to teach the subject from zero.

What I’m not going to claim

These are revision notes, written for revision and answer-writing. They’re compressed on purpose, and they won’t replace reading your standard sources once. Use them to structure the optional and to revise it, not to meet Anthropology for the first time.

On previous-year questions, I’ve only mapped the ones that could be verified against their theme. That means some themes carry fewer questions than a coaching compilation would show you. I’d rather give you a shorter, accurate list.

And the free part has no catch. No sign-up, no watermark, no email wall. The checkout exists only to create your download link.

Gaurav Tiwari

Hey, I’m Gaurav 👋

I wrote these notes topic by topic against the official syllabus, then gathered them into one book so you don’t have to collect them piecemeal. They stay free because the aspirants who need material most are the ones least able to keep buying it.

The numbers, since you probably won’t read a full bio:

  • 18 years building on the web, and a WordPress core contributor
  • 2,000+ articles published since 2008, study material included
  • 850+ clients, all served with the same habit: state the thing precisely and don’t pad
