GT Link Manager 1.12.0 is out, with branded links for Novashare, analytics integrations, and fixes across redirects, the editor and the REST API.

Branded links for social sharing

Using Novashare? Turn on the integration under GT Links > Integrations > Social sharing, then choose Custom as the link shortener in Novashare. Shared posts will use your branded links, with no code needed. Each shared URL gets one link, kept in a Novashare category.

Send short link clicks to your analytics tools

The new Integrations screen lets you connect services such as Google Analytics 4, Matomo, Umami, PostHog and Plausible (beta), plus WordPress analytics plugins including Independent Analytics, Koko Analytics, WP Statistics and Burst Statistics.

There's also browser tag support for Google Tag Manager, Fathom and Microsoft Clarity. GA4 can use this route too if you'd rather not create an API secret. For supported analytics plugins, leaving a field blank lets GT Link Manager use the settings they already hold.

All integrations are off by default. Sharing visitor IP addresses and countries is a separate setting, also off by default. The suggested privacy policy text updates to reflect the tools you enable and what they receive. Developers also get hooks for integrations, including a visitor-consent hook.

An important permissions change

Direct and regex links now require an administrator to create, change, trash, restore, toggle or copy them. Permanently deleting any link also requires an administrator. This applies across the dashboard, REST API, CSV import and AI agents. Contributors, Authors and Editors retain access to standard links and can still move them to the Trash.

Other improvements worth knowing

• Non-Latin slugs, encoded direct paths and destinations with international domains now resolve correctly.

• Editing direct or regex links clears their cached copies on sites with an object cache.

• Turning off geolocation pauses a link's country rules instead of deleting them.

• The editor's link inserter only offers active links with usable addresses and inserts the link name when no text is selected.

• Campaign reports and CSV exports show UTM values instead of a bare campaign number.

• Circled question-mark help links open the relevant documentation from screens and settings.

• On LiteSpeed servers, redirects now reach visitors before click counting starts, as they already did on PHP-FPM.

If you try the Novashare or analytics integrations, reply with your setup and how it goes.

GT Link Manager 1.10.0 lets an AI agent manage your short links. Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor through Site Agent (free, 0.4 or later) and the agent gets the GT Link Manager skill automatically.

You can ask it things like "add a /go/ link for this affiliate URL" or "where does /go/hosting point, and how many clicks did it get?"

What an agent can do:

  • Find links by slug or search, including an existing link for the same brand under another slug.
  • Create and update links, redirect types, rel attributes and country rules.
  • Turn links on or off, trash and restore them, and sort them into categories.
  • Read click analytics, for administrators.

Every change goes through the same checks as the REST API, so duplicate slugs and reserved paths are refused exactly as in wp-admin. The skill tells the agent to ask you before it changes where a live link goes or trashes one. Permanent deletion and analytics settings stay in the dashboard.

Also in this release:

  • A new AI agents page in the GT Links menu explains what a connected agent can do and how to connect one.
  • Settings are grouped into cards.
  • Developers get gtlm_agent(). It returns the branded short link as url and the destination as target_url.

Links and redirects are unchanged. Update from Dashboard → Plugins, since it ships from WordPress.org. The full list is in the changelog.

If an agent creates a link that doesn't redirect the way you expected, reply with the slug.
