AI-generated design isn't the problem. Unedited design is.

I kept seeing the same patterns: card soup, thick rounded borders, vague SaaS copy, fake dashboards, decorative gradients, and mobile layouts that merely stack the desktop version.

So I turned my anti-slop checklist into an open-source agent skill called Design Slop.

It checks for:

  • weak hierarchy hidden behind visual effects
  • rounded containers with 2px+ borders
  • unsupported metrics, testimonials, and product claims
  • missing loading, empty, error, and disabled states
  • inaccessible controls and broken semantics
  • decorative animation that adds weight but no value
  • generated wrapper trees and brittle implementation

It doesn't declare every gradient or card "bad." It asks for concrete evidence, explains the user-facing cost, recommends the smallest durable correction, and tells you how to verify the result.

You can use it with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, or any agent that reads Markdown.
