Coolpad’s premier smartphone Cool 1 was recently launched for a very competitive price tag of Rs. 13,999 on Amazon. The smartphone features 4 gigs of RAM, 13MP+13MP twin camera, huge battery and an octa-core 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor along with Android 6.0, Fingerprint sensor and few more specs that could shy up any premium level smartphones. From looks to performance this 5.5 inch device is a wonder in its own.

I had a chance to test-drive the smartphone at my own and found the device very pleasing. There are a lot of things in Cool 1 that kick the way a hardcore mobile user would want. If you are looking forward to buy a smartphone in range of 10-15k, I’d surely recommend to give it a go. Here is why I think Coolpad Cool 1 is the best smartphone under 15K!

If you are even a little aware about the competition in the mobile market, you would quickly figure out why cameras are so important. With selfie-enthusiasts & crazy marketing around, mobile companies are preferring to call smartphone-camera to sell their products to selfie lovers and professional photographers alike. Cool 1 features 13MP+13MP twin cameras with a dual flash on the rear and 8MP selfie camera on the front. Twins cameras are independent and each is used to capture monochrome and colorful photos, respectively. The image quality is insanely good in almost every light condition, day or night. For casual photo-lovers there are various quick photo mode presets. While for professional photographers, Cool 1 offers various pro-controls to adjust different image capturing parameters. Coolpad has also integrated DSLR features to automatically adjust its focus to a premium perspective.

I am not any good with photography rules, but these photos seem good even for my hands. These didn’t take any pro-level adjustments though – all I had to do was to switch to SLR mode and capture. Both the rear and front cameras sport beauty modes for selfie lovers. Beauty mode is typically a necessity now a days but Coolpad takes it to a new level with this smartphone. The video quality of the smartphone is quite brilliant as well and it supports video capturing to a rare 4K resolution.

Cool 1 can record and play 4K videos flawlessly. The audio quality is pretty good and the music experience is supported by two speakers placed appropriately on the bottom.

I am a casual mobile gamer and play just those fun timers like Clash of Clans, Clash Royale and Stick Cricket level mid-games that come bundled below 100 MB. Just to test the device, I ran some heavy games – NFS No Limits, Tales from the Borderlands & FIFA Mobile Soccer – flawlessly on this phone at least. Gameplays were smooth and in between the gameplays I could attend calls & switch to other games and applications in real time. 4GB RAM is quite something and makes Cool 1 a real heaven for multitaskers. Cool 1 plays lively and stays cool during multitasking. My Redmi Note 3 is quite brilliant for gaming as well but it would easily heat-up after half an hour of processing the same way I tried with Cool 1. Coolpad has really invested good hardware to make sure that the product remains in hand for a longer time. Battery is big but such multitasking surely picks a flaw out of it. I noticed a sudden drain to the battery percentages while I was playing Mobile Soccer. However, then came the Type-C charger to rescue. Charging was rapid and after half an hour or so, I was ready to play another round of the game. If you are a reader, and spend good amount of time in reading, watching or browsing – Cool 1 can be a great vibe for that as well. The 5.5-inch screen is immerse and can fulfill needs of a reader or video. Since the device runs on eUI, it has its own interface & fonts for various elements. Games or videos – the device looks appealing when it is in use in your hands as the screen to device ratio is quite high as 77% – provoking the screen to appear close to device edges.

Overall, Cool 1 is power packed camera smartphone that meets all expectations of a power user. Its flagship level specifications are supported by a very competitive pricing, which makes it the best deal under Rs. 15000. The smartphone is available online for sale on
